Vonn Jones - Wastewater Circuit Rider

Vonn Jones has been in the water and wastewater industry since 1975. He is a Grade 4 State Certified Wastewater Operator, and a Grade 3 State Certified Water Operator. He has worked in all types of wastewater plants from 30,000 GPD to 8 MGD.

Vonn worked in industrial waste for two years implementing a complete program for a city of over 30,000.  He was a laboratory director for seven years where he was certified in Backflow/Cross-Connection, and completed a program for two different employers.

Vonn is a certified confined space instructor and teaches many classes in math and wastewater-related topics. He has done smoke testing on wastewater collection systems in many communities throughout Arizona. Vonn has also assisted many wastewater systems to set up laboratories, begin sampling, and practice good process control. He considers AZPDES and SMRF reporting as one of his greatest strengths. He has helped many operators to solve their problems and improve their professional abilities as operators through RWAA’s trainings and technical assistance.

Vonn has worked for the Rural Water Association of Arizona for 17 years. He is currently serving on the Town of Miami Wastewater Advisory Board.
