Staci Estes Horn, Financial Secretary

Staci has been the Financial Secretary for First Presbyterian Church since July of 2005. She is a native of Daviess County and is a self-employed accountant. She can usually be reached at the church office on Mondays and Thursdays.

 
She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. They are involved in various church, school and sporting activities.

John "Anthony" Marts, Youth Director

Hello all, My name is John Marts but I prefer to go by Anthony. I was born on 11/24/1987 in North Carolina. I am the first born of four children, but my family has now grown to where I currently have 12 siblings. My family moved to Kentucky when I was a freshman in High School. After High School I attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro KY. I majored in Religion with minors in Christian Ministries and Psychology.

Alicia Marts, Director of Christian Education

Alicia Joy (Kittinger) Marts graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a minor in Christian Ministries.  After graduating Alicia worked for a year at the Mary Kendall Home for Children and Youth as a youth counselor.  Currently, Alicia is a Regional Recruiter for the Migrant Education Program, as well as, the DCE for this wonderful church.

Myrna Ruth Melhiser, Director of Music/Organist

Myrna Ruth Melhiser was born and reared in Owensboro. She studied piano as a teenager under the tutelage of Elizabeth Paris and organ under Dr. Ralph Waterman, a professor at University of Evansville. She then completed college at Kentucky Wesleyan with a major in English and a minor in music. Later she received a MA from Western in English. During her adult years, she continued to study voice under different professors – the most recent one, Dennis Sheppard.

Patti Price, Assistant Director of Music

Patti also sings in the adult choir, plays the clarinet, piano and handbells and teaches the new exercise craze, Zumba at church.

Patti graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.  She works full time at First Security Bank.

She enjoys being with her family, music, exercise, playing the piano and clarinet, UK football and basketball games, golf, traveling to see different places and playing board games.

Amy Kand, Children's Day Out Director

In August 2006, Amy joined the Children’s Day Out staff in the pre-kindergarten room, then served as interim director for one year, and became director in March 2009.  Before coming to CDO, she held positions in human resources, heath care admissions and marketing, and childcare.

Don Jones, Facilities Coordinator/Custodian

Don joined the FPC staff as Facilities Coordinator/Custodian on March 20, 2006. Don is a native of Owensboro and attended Owensboro Catholic High School, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and received his degree in accounting from Brescia University. Having worked 28 years at Owensboro Municipal Utility (OMU), he retired and relocated with his wife, Sharon, to Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked for four years at Bellsouth. He and Sharon then moved back home to Owensboro, where he has been ever since. Don and Sharon have three children and four grandchildren among them. Sharon is a Real Estate agent,. Don enjoys running, fishing, reading, and riding his motorcyle.
